Widely Flared Horns
Astor Markhors were the first observed specie of Capra Falconeri. Weighing in at around 90-105 kgs, it is the bulkiest of the three sub-species. The male’s horns flare quiet widely just above the base, about one to one-and-a-half twists. This first turn is exceptionally noticeable.
Moderately Twisted Horns
The largest of Markhors with the most extended body has a similar coat and ruff to the Astor sub-specie. However, their horns are slightly flared with 2-3 spiral twists. Northward, they are found to have flared horns and southwards, they tend to have tighter twisting horns.
Tightly Twisted Horns
The southernmost resident of the species has the lightest body frame. Weighing in at nearly 70 kgs, the Sulaiman Markhor is distinguished by its short winter coat. The horns are straight, diagonally protruding from the base of the head and spiraling upwards like a corkscrew.
